Having finally been to a rugby match and taking some photos, I decided I should have a gallery dedicated to the club sports at Mac. Now I just have to find the time to actually get out to some of their matches.

The spring sports. Macalester's spring time weather can vary dramatically from week to week - so the volume of photos each season depends on my how my schedule lines up with the home games and good weather.

Cross Country in the Fall and Track in the spring - it taxes my knees just watching these meets. Most of the Cross Country meet photos come from the MIAC Conference meets at Como Park in Saint Paul. Track meet photos are mostly from all over the metro area.

Macalester soccer offers some of the best soccer you can find in Minnesota. Every year, for both men and women, the program is solid and fun to watch - but the energy of the fans is probably one of the main reasons I love attending games. When I attended Mac, they dominated the MIAC season after season. The MIAC has grown considerably more competitive - making Macalester's continued success even more enjoyable to watch. 2-0 victories are sweeter than 5-0.

I shot Mac football for years before starting to shoot for other schools, including the Minnesota Gophers. I try not to miss a home game and try to travel to away games in the metro area because they are an exciting team to watch. Historically, Mac's successful soccer program has been the jewel of the stadium, but Coach Caruso and his staff have brought a new system and a renewed pride in the football team. On September 1, 2007, they defeated Beloit for the first time in 50 years -- and they looked really good doing it. I'm excited to be a part of the new Mac football program.

The sports depicted in this gallery are inside sports. As such, they are much more difficult to capture on film without expensive equipment. Thus, I do not have as many photos and I was not able to go to as many events so I have fewer seasons depicted as well. This should change in the near future as my equipment improves.
